2020-2021 Registration

It was unfortunate our Open House, which was scheduled for Thursday, March 12th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, was cancelled.

It was not an easy decision, but one made out of an abundance of caution given the quickly evolving COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation. 

Westminster ViewBook 2020 - 2021

Please note that Westminster School is full in planned classes in Grade 7 to Grade 9. We will accept registrations in Grades 7 to 9 in the regular program only if you are a resident of Edmonton Public Schools and have newly moved into our attendance area after April 15, 2020. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian that is non-Roman Catholic and who resides within the City of Edmonton. Non-resident students may only enrol in another Division school with space remaining in planned classes.

Enrolment Limits

Westminster School has a pre-determined number of spaces for students in the school, certain classes, and/or specific programs. Limiting the number of students who can attend helps the school maintain excellent teaching and learning conditions for members in our learning community.

  • We have a maximum enrolment limit of 535 students for the entire school.
  • We have an optimal enrolment limit of 175 students in Grade Seven. 

Guaranteed Access to Westminster School

  • Students residing in the Westminster Attendance Area have guaranteed access to the school. 
  • Students who are currently in the IBMYP and/or the IBPYP at Westglen, Coronation and Glenora have guaranteed access to the school. 
  • Grade Six students who have a sibling currently attending Westminster School and will continue attending in either Grade 8 and/or Grade 9 in 2020 - 2021.

New Student to Edmonton Public Schools Registration (Non EPS student)

Because schools remain closed to students and visitors due to COVID-19, new student registrations of non EPS students will now be submitted online via a Google Online Submission Form. You must first fill out and upload the ESP Student Registration Form and submit supporting documents (see below) using the Google Online Submission Form before your child(ren) can be registered for the upcoming school year. 

Our school will no longer accept printed registrations. Do not drop off student registration forms at the school. Submitting a registration package after the deadline of April 15, 2020 may limit your options to schools with available space.  Learn more about registration dates and deadlines.
 
STEP 1: DOWNLOAD AND COMPLETE THE EPS STUDENT REGISTRATION FORM AND GATHER SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS 

You will need to use an existing Gmail account or set up a free Gmail account to fill out the Google Online Submission Form. This helps us protect the privacy of your personal information.

STEP 2: FILL OUT THE GOOGLE ONLINE SUBMISSION FORM AND UPLOAD A COMPLETED EPS STUDENT REGISTRATION FORM AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION
 
Upload copies of the following documents. All documents must be uploaded in order to submit the form. Please ensure that you are providing clearphotos and the entire page is visible for each document submitted.
  • a completed, signed Student Registration Form (fill out the form electronically, print a copy and scan the completed copy, or print and take clear photos of each completed page.)

  • confirmation of address for the student's parent/guardian (see below)

     

     

  • legal proof of the student’s name, citizenship and birthdate (see below)

  • In some cases, immigration documents (e.g. landed immigrant documentation or a Permanent Residence Card) may also be required. Visit Citizenship and Immigration Canada for more information.

  • In some cases, you may be asked to provide more than one of the above. 

 
Step 3: Confirming Registration Submission

Once you have submitted your completed student registration form and supporting documents, we will review all of the documents. This does not mean your child has been enrolled at the school—we will contact you to let you know once your child is enrolled.  We will contact you if we need clarification about any of the documents you submit.   For junior high and high school registrations—once we confirm your enrolment, we will reach out to you for your course requests.

The Pre-Enrolment Process for students in Edmonton Public Schools opens through SchoolZone on Monday, March 9th at 9:00 AM. Registration for non Edmonton Public Schools students are now being accepted up until Wednesday, April 15th at 4:00 PM. 

Wednesday, April 15th at 4:00 PM is the closing of the Pre-Enrolment Process at all Edmonton Public Schools. 

Our school office will open on Thursday, August 27th, 2020 at 9:00 AM and will close at 4:00 PM daily. If you need to connect with the school prior to our office opening in August, please email the school at westminster@epsb.ca. The first day of school for all of our Warriors is Thursday, September 3rd, 2020.
